Hello folks.

My name is Jessica Joyce. I’m a web developer, search engine optimizer and I work on a Mac 

My secret career goal is to be a spy – they’re so confident and stealthy and I can’t sneak into my own house.

Until the spy career pans out, I live in York Region just north of Toronto, Ontario Canada and was born in the summer of 1981.

I started developing websites when I was 15 and about the same time I started really listening to music. The bands I listened to had little-to-no information on the web about them, so I started them building fan websites to show my appreciation. GeoCities, Tripod, FortuneCity were my homes and I got bored with their pre-packaged layouts so I’d create my own on their free platforms.

Today the only fan site still going I’ve moved a few times but is my silverchair fansite. I haven’t updated it in a while but still love them (even though they took a hiatus as of 2011) and like to keep it as an archive. Building those fan sites sites were my foundation of learning and brought my two favourite things together, music and the internet. So by building them I could keep up-to-date on my favourite bands while keeping up-to-date on my coding skills – win.

Once I hit high school one of my programming teachers let me teach the HTML class so figured it was on to something and after high school gained a diploma from Fanshawe College in Multimedia in London, Ontario. Today, I’ve been continuing working on the web developing away. I’ve expanded my development skills and have been spending a lot of my time in search engine optimization – Matt Cutts answered one of my questions in 2008, tripstar = me.

Aside from working away on the internet I love travel and have been lucky enough to venture to some pretty incredible places. So far I’ve ventured off to France, England, Barbados, San Francisco and the last trip was South Africa & Mozambique. Also a few years ago I narrowly escaped being eaten by zombies – practice for the zompocalypse!
